Here YU go with the first official Riddim release on our latest sub-division GERMAICA JAPAN. In co-operation with our local partner SUNNYSIDE RECORDS we’d like to introduce the YU GO! JAPAN RIDDIM! - on 2 singles, 4 Artistes from 4 different cities are to check…

First up is J.T.C. FEAT. T. from Tokyo. They are one of the hottest Dancehall Reggae groups from Japan with leader CHOP STICK and the young star DeeJays J-REXXX & TANAKEN. Eventhough they are a new group, they have already some hit tunes under their belt and over 60 songs recorded. The lyrics are about their love to an international sweet originating from the “Sachsen-Anhalt” region in Germany: BAUMKUCHEN! Japan knows the deal!

Next is a track called BURNING MAN the debut of AIKYO – a new voice from Izu/Shizuoka. He is an upcoming DeeJay known for his country soldier style and variations of melodical Ragga flows. Positive vibration and straight lyrics with a rebel message are his musical weapons to fight against the evil. AIKYOs lyrics are about the current social problems of Japan such as nukes and the corrupted political system.

ARARE from Yokohama/Kanagawa is an artist who is deeply addicted to writing lyrics and producing riddim tracks. He writes lyrics rooted in his quite unique way of thinking. The goal he wants to achieve is going out to the World with localism. MUSIC SALESMAN is about how he enjoys shaking hands with Germany to fight against English speakers.

The fourth track comes from 4X4 and called SHAMPOO IS LIMITED ONCE AGAIN. 4×4 – originating from Sayama/Saitama - is the No. 1 slackness DeeJay from Japan. He is a member of the well-known Reggae group SHOWRENTAI. The lyrics are about his daily practice to wash pubic hair with shampoo to attract girls…

The YU GO! JAPAN RIDDIM is our first step into the Japanese Dancehall business and we’re proud to represent for those talented Artistes from Nippon! Single No. 1 is available from now on. The second one will be released on Sep26.

Straight from Valencia/Spain HEAVY ROOTS is the latest signing on our Iberian sub-division. We’re convinced that this production outlet is full of potential and musical creativity. Today we’d like to present you the first HEAVY ROOTS selection for GERMAICA IBERIA called “Heartless Riddim”.

The lead track “Guilty” is performed by ONTON and actually features the first voicing ever of Jamaican Superstar KONSHENS for a Spanish producer. Finally it can be declared: Reggae culture installed itself in Latin America…. Since those first steps of NANDO BOOM y EL GENERAL in the 80s, the Reggae movement has turned into a total fever. Month after month the quantity of Latin artistes, songs in Spanish language, live shows and above everything the audiencw is growing all over the continent. Different Latin countries – Panama, Costa Rica, Chile amongst others established themselves as factories for Reggae in Spanish language. The only thing that is still missing is to unite them under one banner. That’s why GERMAICA LATINA is arriving now…

GERMAICA LATINA is a sub label of the internationally acclaimed German Dancehall label GERMAICA which in his rich history has released numerous hits like TANYA STEPHENS’  ”It’s A Pity” or T.O.K.s ”Shining Star” amongst others. Now this newest sub division has the goal to develop into a reference for the Reggae movement of the whole continent and will colaborate with great names of the genre from Latin America but likewise from other parts of the world.

Behind the project there are 3 persons with great international experience: PIONEAR (Germaica Digital / Germaica Iberia); DJ STEPWISE (Galang Radio / Guiding Star Agency); and ROC TEBE (Rhythm and Flow / Germaica Iberia), made a trans-oceanian connection between Leipzig (Germany), Oakland (USA) and Barcelona (Catalonia). For the moment GERMAICA LATINA is planning digital releases including Riddims, Singles and Albums.

First release is for GERMAICA LATINA is the Maxi Single  “Ellos van a ver – Edicion Latina” of ZATU (SFDK) & KAFU BANTON which was originally released with great success (more than 1.5 mio. views on YouTube) in Spain. The “Edición Latina” now comes with 2 remixes plus the original song. The first remix is provided by rising producers crew HEAVY ROOTS from Valencia/Spain who present a fresh interpretation with their distinct Hip Hop and Reggae flavour, while  MIR CREW from Stockholm/Sweden give us a much more electronic approach Moombahton style.

Am 23.06. 2012 kehrt die beliebte Freiluftveranstaltung REGGAE WIE IHN DEINE MUTTER SCHON NICHT LEIDEN KONNTE zurück. Die Formel: frische Luft + frisches Bier + frische oder gut abgehangene Riddims konnte bereits in der letzten Dekade Hunderte Leipziger begeistern und zum jeweils größten lokalen Reggaedance des Jahres locken.

Deshalb ist es diesen Sommer wieder Zeit, die Boxen in den breitesten Grünstreifen der Stadt zu karren und im Palmengarten Vintage, Roots, Dub und später Dancehall zu hören und dazu ein “Krosti” – oder ein, wie wir hörten, westlich des Flusses genanntes “Uri” – zu schlürfen. Dazu gibt es internationale Küche, Tischtennis, Frisbee, Twister und 13:00 – 15:00 Uhr ein Kinderprogramm …

Und so trifft sich Ost und West, Groß und Klein, Dick und Dünn, Sachse und Zugereister und selbst die Mutti zum entspanntesten Dance 2012…
