Germaica Digital presents a label compilation with thematical recordings from it’s 20 years of label history. 15 songs about all aspects of whatever you call it, weed, marihuana, herb, ganja.

The line up boasts everything that made the label the European frontrunner when it comes to Dancehall and Reggae music, top class Jamaican Artistes like Vybz Kartel, Ward 21, Bugle ft. Shaggy or Mr. Vegas meet some of Europe’s finest like Ras Luta from Poland or Andalusian crooner Shabu.

GERMAICA is in full gear again when Riddim No.19 of Europe’s Dancehall machine is ready to enter the clubs! And once again the label is introducing a brand new trend: “Balkan Dancehall”!

… Dancehall culture saw an enormous growth within the last decade and the music has spread all over of the globe. Like MILLION STYLEZ in „Dancehall Takeover“ – the lead tune of the release – says: “Dancehall a world-wide ting right now!”… The instrumental of the “Yu Go! Riddim” is a good example for that. It’s a perfect blend of an authentic sample from the Bosnian 80s music and an up-to-the-time Dancehall beat. It was produced by EMIR “YOUTHMAN” KOBILIC, Bosnian immigrant to Sweden and one half of the dynamic “Balkan Dancehall” duo SANJIN & YOUTHMAN”, who provided the first single on the riddim called “Runnin’ Dis Town”. Carrying an unique vibe his debut Riddim is destined to make all girls swing and the rudies salute!

Es begann am 6. September 2008 im Frühauf – dem wohl letzten echten Undergroundclub von Leipzig. Die Selection des hiesigen No.1 Sounds UPLIFTMENT INT’L, die Live Show von RAS LUTA, dem No.1 Conscious SingJay aus Polen, die RANKS BAR, mit der No.1 Absturzgarantie, alles Legende….

Heute nach 36 Monaten bzw. 1.095 Tagen und 63 Shows in Leipzig, Mitteldeutschland und Österreich wird das 3-jährige Jubiläum begangen. Gefeiert wird am Freitag den 9.9. in der aktuellen „Fly High!“ Location dem „2UG Club“ in der Leipziger Innenstadt. Die Musik wird von den 4 „Fly High!“ Residents TOM-A-GIDDEON, FLO, D-FEKT und ROUGH CUT kommen. Special Live Guest wird TOM HYPE aus Klagenfurt/Österreich sein, der passend zu den vergangenen drei Jahren auch seine dritte Performance auf der „Fly High!“ Bühne geben wird.

Präsentiert von VELOCITY SOUNDS REC. werden THE SONIC BOOM FOUNDATION die Nacht headlinen. Mastermind JOEY A. VAISING hat einige der wichtigsten Bands Leipzigs aus der Taufe gehoben: THE LEGENDARY TISHVAISING, ((T.A.M.)) und eben jüngst den heutigen Live Act, den ihr in der Halle A ebenso wie die DJs LITTLE ANNE, ROLEX und DRUM C und JOEYs Alter Ego KRTECH sehen könnt. Auf diesem Floor wird es alle Spielarten der Electromusik geben.

In der Halle D ist die Urban Music zu finden. Hier zeichnet GERMAICA DIGITAL verantwortlich, das Label von PIONEAR, der quasi das Pendant zu Herrn Vaising bildet, hat er doch mit MESSER BANZANI, THE FAR EAST BAND, oder RONNY TRETTMANN, immer wieder Bands und Acts aus Leipzig gegründet, gebreakt, oder gar kreiert, und Trends besonders für „Dancehall made in Germany“ gesetzt. Zu Silvester präsentiert er seinen mittlerweile europaweit agierenden Labelsound UPLIFTMENT INT’L, sowie mit D-FEKT, einen der angesagtesten DJs der Stadt.

Mit insgesamt 5 Shows unter dem Motto des offiziellen UPLIFTMENT INT’L Dances, wird der Dezember 2009 ohne Zweifel D-E-R FLY HIGH! Monat bisher! So wird die neue Dancehall-Partyreihe Leipzigs nach Mittweida und Görlitz exportiert, es das erste FLY HIGH! XTRA am 18.12. im Frühauf geben (bei dem wir auch den ersten jamaikanischen Artiste begrüßen können), und zum krönenden Abschluß des Jahres eine mit Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Jungle und Dub angereicherte Silvestersause im Connewitzer Werk II stattfinden…

Den Anfang macht jedoch die vierzehnte Ausgabe des regulär stattfindenden Dances am 5.12., bei dem der Link nach Österreich im Fokus steht. Mit TOM HYPE kommt der hoffnungsvollste Hardcore-Artiste der Alpenrepublik nach Leipzig! 2006 war er Mitbegründer der Band SOUND.SAFARI, die mittlerweile in Österreich Kult-Status genießt. Mit TOM HYPE am Mikrofon wurde das Kärnten-Finale des „Local Heroes Band Contest“ gewonnen, und die Band erreichte im österreichweiten Finale in Wien den 4. Platz – die beste Platzierung einer Kärntner Band überhaupt.

2009 startete Tom Hype mit der Hip Hop Crew DECKTALES einen monatlichen Regular im Club Loco in Villach: „HipHop Vs Dancehall“ – der Anfang des Hypes… Heute stehen über 350 Gigs in Österreich, Deutschland, Italien & Slowenien zu Buche, eine Mega-Massive in Kärnten hinter dem Artist und die Frauen Schlange… Ein Album Release ist für 2010 geplant. Der Hype ist ausgebrochen und die €uros werden rollen!
