“Balkan Dancehall” takin’ over” was the slogan, the prediction and the promise we made one year ago, when the original “Yu Go! Riddim” album was released. Today, 7 singles, 5 videos, +40 official  and about 60 nonofficial cuts later EMIR “YOUTHMAN” KOBILICs debut Riddim turned into a kind of “Sleng Teng Riddim” of the new millenium and made it’s way once around the world.

We choose Artistes from 3 continents and 10 countries for the “Yu Go! World Wide Riddim” album including 4 performers from the motherland of Dancehall Jamaica: The already single released GENERAL DEGREE and HAWKEYE long time label affiliates WARD 21 and comedian SANI SHOWBIZZ.

Here YU go with the first official Riddim release on our latest sub-division GERMAICA JAPAN. In co-operation with our local partner SUNNYSIDE RECORDS we’d like to introduce the YU GO! JAPAN RIDDIM! – on 2 singles, 4 Artistes from 4 different cities are to check…

First up is J.T.C. FEAT. T. from Tokyo. They are one of the hottest Dancehall Reggae groups from Japan with leader CHOP STICK and the young star DeeJays J-REXXX & TANAKEN. Eventhough they are a new group, they have already some hit tunes under their belt and over 60 songs recorded. The lyrics are about their love to an international sweet originating from the “Sachsen-Anhalt” region in Germany: BAUMKUCHEN! Japan knows the deal!

Next is a track called BURNING MAN the debut of AIKYO – a new voice from Izu/Shizuoka. He is an upcoming DeeJay known for his country soldier style and variations of melodical Ragga flows. Positive vibration and straight lyrics with a rebel message are his musical weapons to fight against the evil. AIKYOs lyrics are about the current social problems of Japan such as nukes and the corrupted political system.

ARARE from Yokohama/Kanagawa is an artist who is deeply addicted to writing lyrics and producing riddim tracks. He writes lyrics rooted in his quite unique way of thinking. The goal he wants to achieve is going out to the World with localism. MUSIC SALESMAN is about how he enjoys shaking hands with Germany to fight against English speakers.

The fourth track comes from 4X4 and called SHAMPOO IS LIMITED ONCE AGAIN. 4×4 – originating from Sayama/Saitama – is the No. 1 slackness DeeJay from Japan. He is a member of the well-known Reggae group SHOWRENTAI. The lyrics are about his daily practice to wash pubic hair with shampoo to attract girls…

The YU GO! JAPAN RIDDIM is our first step into the Japanese Dancehall business and we’re proud to represent for those talented Artistes from Nippon! Single No. 1 is available from now on. The second one will be released on Sep26.

JOEY FEVER – born and raised in Stockholm/Sweden – has been active as a Reggae/Dancehall artist since the beginning of the millenium, working with different selectors and sound systems. Around 2006 he started focusing on his solo career. JOEY FEVER has released a series of singles on different labels. Some of his best know songs are SWEETNESS, TELL IT TO MY HEART, ME NUH FOLLOW DEM and the combination tune YOUNG GUNZ with Swedish Dancehall superstar MILLION STYLEZ.

He has been touring Europe reaching out to audiences in more than 10 different countries. Last year JOEY FEVER released his debut album IN A FEVER on Reggae legend TIPPA IRIEs label ”Lockdown Productions”.

In 2012 he has teamed up with his good friend EMIR “YOUTHMAN” KOBILIC who is concidered one of the rising stars among Swedish Producers and is also both singer and producer of his own group SANJIN & YOUTHMAN – who just dropped their debut EP BALKAN DANCEHALL (GERMAICA DIGITAL).  YOUTHMAN has produced all six tracks on this EP.

This one is the first official Riddim release on our newest European sub division GERMAICA POLSKA, which is a co-operation with the most active and successful Polish Dancehall Kru DANCEHALL MASAK-RAH from Warsaw. 27PABLO, DRIVAH, JUNIOR STRESS & MOTHASHIPP run the baddes’ weekly regular Dance in Eastern Europe and as well host a radio show on national radio “Czwórka” every Saturday at 02:00pm. It was also there where the YU GO! RIDDIM was premiered for Poland… And from this very moment Poland loved it and gave it an overwhelming feedback. This being said it was more than logic to issue a local leg of the riddim…

And here YU go! Besides the teaser song NADSZIEDŁ JUŻ CZAS from BAS TAJPAN & BOB ONE – anchor single for their “Protest 2012” EP and tour – and the first official single NIC NA SIŁE from SZTOSS five more tunes were voiced on the YU GO! POLSKA. The “Dancehall Masak-Rah” Kru delivers the next two tunes: JUNIOR STRESS introduces his new “evil” alter ego YUREK DRES and the kraziest tune of the selection NIE MAM CZASU by 27PABLO & MOTHASHIPP shows what happens when PIONIR from “Zachodnia Polska” pressures his partners in Warsaw to step pon di riddim and everybody say: “But I’m to exhausted and don’t even have the time to write lyrics…” – the translation of NIE MAM CZASU is “I don’t have time”.

Six years ago PIONEAR started to work in Poland and in a joint venture with SILVER DREAD from veteran sound LOVE SENSI MUSIC from Lublin the critically acclaimed album POLSKI OGIEN was produced. Some even say it was the real starting point for Polish Dancehall, but for sure it was the first album of the genre on a major label – Warner Music Poland – and introduced a lot of the Artistes to a wider audience that “run PL” today…

Besides the mentioned BOB ONE, MARIKA and JUNIOR STRESS  the protagonists of the two remaining songs on the YU GO! ORIGINAL BALKAN DANCEHALL TAKIN OVA’ was the slogan that popped up last year when SANJIN & YOUTHMAN  released their first official single RUNNIN’ DIS TOWN. The duo of cousins – originally hailing from Bosanka Gradiska/Bosnia but now living in Sweden – started it’s musical journey more than 10 years ago within the belly of the Swedish underground hiphop scene. SANJIN & YOUTHMAN is DeeJay SANJIN and his counterpart SingJay YOUTHMAN who is also producing. YOUTHMAN as well provided the majority of the instrumentals for their debut EP that we’d like to introduce to you today…

One late drunken evening while listening to the folk inspired sounds of their home country, they decided to fuse the influences they’ve gathered through their long love of music, and the idea of BALKAN DANCEHALL was born. And so they started to combine the language and the culture of their Bosnian background with Patois lyrics and Jamaican music. The similar rhythmic patterns of both regions make you wonder, why only now this merger appears, but SANJIN & YOUTHMAN along with fellow GERMAICA label mates LAS BALKANIERAS only proove that obviously it’s the right time to do it! And speaking of LAS BALKANIERAS… BALKAN COWBOY – the first song of the release – is featuring the “Queens of Balkan-Dancehall” making it a humorous party-family-track. Followed by the mentioned RUNNIN’ DIS TOWN on YOUTHMANs killer riddim YU GO! the EP takes up speed leading to the latin flavoured HEY SEÑORITA featuring RIGO out of the “Crossfire” camp. Next up is TOURIST with witty lyrics and great rapping skillz of SANJIN it is a previously unreleased track recorded on the MONKEY BARREL RIDDIM of WARD 21s KUNLEY McCARTHY.

An interlude prepares you for the “journey of your life” which is FOR A WHILE the stand out track of this release. Performed on the upcoming second UPLIFTMENT INT’L riddim and build by TINY DAWSON, FOR A WHILE has everything including a great Pop-appeal to make it a propper candidate for the first big hit of SANJIN & YOUTHMAN! It’s obvious that there’s a new Dancehall star producer in the making… EMIR “YOUTHMAN” KOBILICs first release, the YU GO! RIDDIM took Europe by storm immediately and within weeks bootleg versions in all corners of the continent popped up, wheather in Italy, Spain or Bulgaria. So the idea was born to expand the riddim to the different territories and first up is our strongest sub division GERMAICA IBERIA with their cut of the YU GO! pie.

Already in February we released the pre single of the YU GO! IBERIA – ZURIs LA CUENTA ATRÁS which is a fine blend of classic Flamenco with YOUTHMANs hardcore Dancehall pattern and of course the Balkan flavoured sample from Bosnian 80s music. To prove even further how close the music styles of the BALKANS and IBERIA are IJAH & LITTLE PEPE with HASTA EL FONDO and SHABU with SOLO PARA MÍ  felt obviously inspired to deliver renditions to their Andalusian home turf with songs that could easily stand the test of any Flamenco expert.

RAPSUSKLEI, originating from Zaragoza, is a real Heavyweight in the Spanish Hip Hop circuit and delivers maybe the most astonishing track of the riddim with his Hater Anthem SHA-LA-LA. Next up is THEE spanish veteran MR. RANGO from Madrid with MR. MENTION. Representing the Basque country is Hardcore DeeJay NOVATO from Bilbao. Finally the new dogg on the GERMAICA IBERIA compound is Talaveran LASAI who lately moved to Madrid. He delivers a nice Ladies tune to round up this first official riddim release of our label…

Nicknamed the GERMAICA VIKINGZ by us JODDSKI, JAN STEEZY and DRAHPAA are RAGGABALDER RIDDIM REBELS, the Dancehall Soundsystem started by JODDSKI and STEEZY in 2001, out of frustration over Oslos lack of Dancehall clubs. JODDSKI is credited with making the Norwegian language credible for rapping in, and the 2 of them have toured Norway since 2000, up to 2007 with POPPA LARS, making up legendary hiphop band TUNGTVANN. Included JODDSKIs current solo career we are at sometething like 6 albums, 4 eps and countles mixtapes, singles and colloborations.

RAGGABALDER have since 2001 shared stage with everyone from BEENIE MAN to LEE “SCRATCH” PERRY, played all over Europe, won the Oslo club award, held regular clubs all over Norway and dropped a handful of mixtapes. RAGGABALDER favor cutting edge Dancehall over Rastafari and Rub-a-Dub – though playing those styles when in the mood. This time around they include Grime and Hip Hop as well in their selection. RAGGABALDER take their genre deadly serious, but unpretentious, and are known for creative and unexpected Dubplates and Bashment Vibes, as well as putting their Hip Hop background to full use.

Today sees their return from the hiatus they started in 2009. A break they have used to DJ seperately, explored other genres as well as touring and releasing albums with JODDSKIs solo act. “Blå” has held quite a few classic RAGGABALDER sessions, so the Oslo club is a no-brainer as far as where the comeback will be held. Euphoric through the whole comeback, JODDSKI has compiled and mixed 2 Mixtapes with a total of 2 hrs 45 min of his favourite Dancehall, Reggae, Rap and Grime tunes from 2011. Everything done in classic RAGGABALDER fashion. He presents world premieres from WARD 21 and GENERAL DEGREE, as well as a combination from JODDSKI himself and SIRKUS ELIASSEN on the infectious “Yu Go! Riddim”, built by Swedish Bosnian EMIR “YOUTHMAN” KOBILIC, and released by GERMAICA DIGITAL. Dubplates/Exclusives from Norwegian rappers JAA9 & ONKL P, PUMBA & DON MARTIN, SON OF LIGHT, GIRSON and PETE (VÅGSBYGD HANDY) as well as, MR. EVIL,  LOYAL FLAMES, STYLO G, MILLION STYLEZ and SANJIN & YOUTHMAN.
