The last Germaica release of the decade is as well the first official Mavado remix of a German producer to date. Furthering their remix catalogue The Germaicans studio band gave Mavado’s single “Life Blanket” a Reggae remix treatment, making the Gully Gad flow over a 90s inspired beat incorporating even mixes.
The result is Vado seeminlessly blending into the Reggae world. Beautiful keyboard lines compliment the hard working riddim section and saxophoniste Johanna Järemo’s licks put the icing on the cake leaving one with the wish for an entire Mavado Reggae album!

Exactly 20 years ago on 09/09/1999 GERMAICA was founded. We like to take the opportunity to thank everybody involved, all colleagues, artistes and producers who contributed, all people who supported the label and all sounds, DJs and Selectors who played and pushed our releases.
To celebrate label style we decided to re-release the complete back catalogue of MESSER BANZANI – the pioneering Ska & Reggae band from East Germany and predecessor of GERMAICA. It was this band where cousins and then vocalists PIONEAR & TOM started producing riddims and evolved the idea of building a platform for fellow artistes like GENTLEMAN to make their first steps and to support SEEED soon after. In case u never know it was MESSER BANZANI – renamed THE FAR EAST BAND – serving as backing band for the “Journey to Jah” years of the Cologne SingJay.

“Messer Banzani” to nazwa pionierskiego zespołu grającego Reggae/Ska, powstałego w byłej NRD. Założony w 1989 roku w Lipsku przez Pioneara i jego kuzyna Toma zespół wydał pięć albumów, z których dwa zostały wydane również w Polsce w formie kaset, które wywarły trwałe wrażenie na polskich fanach gatunku.
W 2004 roku, aby uświetnić piętnastolecie istnienia zespołu, Pionear poprzez swój label “Germaican Records” postanowił wydać “Messer Banzani Riddim”. W selekcji ukazały się wersje takich Jamajskich artystów, jak Vybz Kartel, Sizzla, Gregory Isaacs, Capleton, Cobra i Admiral Tibett.
Kiedy Pionear i Silver Dread (L.S.M. Soundsystem, Lublin / TamTam Rec.) wyprodukowali pierwszą w historii, oficjalną Polską składankę Reggae / Dancehall pt. „Polski Ogień”, zawierającą już utwór „Sen De La Chica” nagrany przez Juniora Stressa i Tony’ego Juniora na interesującym nas tutaj podkładzie, Pionear postanowił powiększyć selekcję “Messer Banzani Riddim” o wersje polskich artystów, mianowicie Grubsona, Ras Luty i Lilu, Mioda i Grizzlee’ego, Cheeby i wokalistów Silesian Sound. Jak widać, na niemieckim riddimie nagrało się wielu topowych wykonawców naszej rodzimej sceny Reggae tamtego okresu, nagrania jednak nie ujżały dotąd światła dziennego, ginąc gdzieś na twardych dyskach w “Germaican Records”.
Teraz, trzydzieści lat po założeniu zespołu “Messer Banzani” i trzynaście lat po pamiętnej premierze Polskiego Ognia, ten skrawek niedawnej historii polskiej muzyki Reggae jest wreszcie dostępny dla szerokiej publiczności. Przyjemnego słuchania!

Après “Nos coeurs sont liés”, découvrez le nouveau titre de Guive sur le label Germaïca France: “Hasard”. Guive nous livre un texte profond dans lequel il se questionne sur les synchronicités et les coïncidences que place la vie sur notre chemin et le sens qu’elles prennent dans notre histoire personnelle, affirmant ne plus croire au hasard… Cité par Reggae Vibes Magazine comme “un des chanteurs les plus talentueux du moment”, Guive est un chanteur / tromboniste dont les influences naviguent entre soul et reggae. Il est également le leader et fondateur du groupe Guive & the ORA.
“Hasard” fait partie du 2ème volet du projet porté par Germaica Digital qui a décidé d’étendre son activité de production d’artistes Reggae à travers une partie de l’Europe et notamment la France. Tout comme la précédente sur le “Warm up riddim”, cette nouvelle série produite par Pionear & Fabi Benz sur le “Bridge riddim”, interprété par The Germaicans, regroupe plusieurs artistes européens dont Guive pour la France, Ras Luta pour la Pologne, Meli & Adi Amati pour l’Allemagne et Andy Mittoo pour l’Italie. C’est d’ailleurs à ce dernier que l’on doit le nom de ce nouveau riddim puisque son titre “Lì c’era un ponte” rend hommage à la ville de Gênes et de ses habitants suite au drame provoqué par l’effondrement du pont en août 2018.

Fuori il brano che ho scritto sulla vicenda del crollo del Ponte Morandi di Genova, la mia città. Si intitola “Lì c’era un ponte”. Siamo molto felici della buona riuscita di questo progetto perché ci abbiamo messo impegno, passione e rispetto.
È una produzione targata Germaica Italia ed i produttori sono Leander “Pionear” Topp” e (che ha fatto anche i cori) e Fabi ‘Ear To The Streetz’ Benz. Il riddim si chiama “Bridge Riddim” ed è stato suonato dalla band “The Germaicans”.
Django Concerti collaborerà per la promozione e divulgazione del brano. Il disegno in copertina è dell’artista Sara Cherubino.
Si vuole ricordare che tutti i proventi verranno devoluti in beneficenza a supporto di chi è stato coinvolto direttamente con la tragedia del crollo del Ponte Morandi di Genova.
