BAUSA und FABI BENZ kennen sich schon einige ganze Weile… Noch weit vor seinem Durchbruch, feierte der heutige Nummer-1-Rapper auf den legendären Reggae-Bash-Parties im Stuttgarter Zollamt. Später erinnerte sich BAUSA vermutlich an die guten Zeiten, die er auf diesen Veranstaltungen hatte, denn Teile für das Video zu seinem Song „Stripperin“ drehte er auf FABI BENZ‘ Sim Simma Party in der Stuttgarter Corso Bar.

Nun revanchiert sich FABI BENZ und legt gemeinsam mit GERMAICA-Boss PIONEAR einen Remix zu „Stripperin“ im klassischen Lovers Rock Format vor:

Am 23.06. 2012 kehrt die beliebte Freiluftveranstaltung REGGAE WIE IHN DEINE MUTTER SCHON NICHT LEIDEN KONNTE zurück. Die Formel: frische Luft + frisches Bier + frische oder gut abgehangene Riddims konnte bereits in der letzten Dekade Hunderte Leipziger begeistern und zum jeweils größten lokalen Reggaedance des Jahres locken.

Deshalb ist es diesen Sommer wieder Zeit, die Boxen in den breitesten Grünstreifen der Stadt zu karren und im Palmengarten Vintage, Roots, Dub und später Dancehall zu hören und dazu ein „Krosti“ – oder ein, wie wir hörten, westlich des Flusses genanntes „Uri“ – zu schlürfen. Dazu gibt es internationale Küche, Tischtennis, Frisbee, Twister und 13:00 – 15:00 Uhr ein Kinderprogramm …

Nicknamed the GERMAICA VIKINGZ by us JODDSKI, JAN STEEZY and DRAHPAA are RAGGABALDER RIDDIM REBELS, the Dancehall Soundsystem started by JODDSKI and STEEZY in 2001, out of frustration over Oslos lack of Dancehall clubs. JODDSKI is credited with making the Norwegian language credible for rapping in, and the 2 of them have toured Norway since 2000, up to 2007 with POPPA LARS, making up legendary hiphop band TUNGTVANN. Included JODDSKIs current solo career we are at sometething like 6 albums, 4 eps and countles mixtapes, singles and colloborations.

RAGGABALDER have since 2001 shared stage with everyone from BEENIE MAN to LEE „SCRATCH“ PERRY, played all over Europe, won the Oslo club award, held regular clubs all over Norway and dropped a handful of mixtapes. RAGGABALDER favor cutting edge Dancehall over Rastafari and Rub-a-Dub – though playing those styles when in the mood. This time around they include Grime and Hip Hop as well in their selection. RAGGABALDER take their genre deadly serious, but unpretentious, and are known for creative and unexpected Dubplates and Bashment Vibes, as well as putting their Hip Hop background to full use.

Today sees their return from the hiatus they started in 2009. A break they have used to DJ seperately, explored other genres as well as touring and releasing albums with JODDSKIs solo act. „Blå“ has held quite a few classic RAGGABALDER sessions, so the Oslo club is a no-brainer as far as where the comeback will be held. Euphoric through the whole comeback, JODDSKI has compiled and mixed 2 Mixtapes with a total of 2 hrs 45 min of his favourite Dancehall, Reggae, Rap and Grime tunes from 2011. Everything done in classic RAGGABALDER fashion. Das führende Leipziger Soundsystem UPLIFTMENT INT’L hat innerhalb der letzten knapp 3 Jahre gemeinsam mit Deutschlands Dancehall Entrepreneur und GERMAICA Label Boss Pionear das „Fly High!“ als monatliche Veranstaltung für die Fans der Urban Bass Music etabliert. Den wilden Anfängen im Frühauf, einer absoluten Undergroundlocation, folgte letztes Jahr die nagelneue Halle D im Werk II…

Nun hat man mit dem „Club 2UG“ den passenden Ort gefunden, um das „Fly High!“ zum wöchentlichen Regular auszubauen. Der Sound ist excellent, die ersten „Mundpropaganda Shows“ wurden erfolgreich absolviert, und so kann es ab sofort losgehen, mit „dem neuen Mittwoch“ im „Städtischen Kaufhaus“…

Das musikalische Programm wird von fünf Residents bestritten: FLO, Chef des genannten Sounds UPLIFTMENT INT’L, D-FEKT, versierter Hip Hop und Baile Funk DJ und Produzent von RM Records, TOM-A-GIDDEON, gleichfalls UPLIFTMENT-Mitglied, Che vom EXODUS SOUND MOVEMENT und ROUGH KUT, der aus Dresden kommen, mittlerweile in Leipzig zu hause ist. In verschiedener Zusammensetzung werden diese das Profil, daß von Dancehall, Hip Hop und R’n’B bis zu Tropical reicht bedienen. Hinzu kommen wechselnde Getränkespecials, die von der „Ranks Bar“ bereit gestellt werden…

So sieht er aus der “neue Mittwoch” im “Club 2UG”: Leipziger Feierkultur am Schnittpunkt zwischen West und Ost. Musik aus Kingston und New York trifft osteuropäische Trinkgewohnheiten und Gastfreundschaft…

Ab sofort heißt es also immer am Mittwoch: Fasten your seat belts! It’s time to “Fly High!”! Am Freitag den 08.07. gibt es zusätzlich zu den beginnenden Sommerferien in Leipzig das „Fly High! Summer Holidays Special“ auf zwei Floors!

Diesen Mittwoch gibt es ein Special beim Fly High! – D-FEKT aka D-FEKTO hat Geburtstag und feiert diesen ordentlich mit der Kru! Neben dem Meister selbst und Resident TOM-A-GIDDEON werden MR. BEEF, DJ SAIBZ und DJ MAGNETIC an den Geräten stehen und die musikalische Gestaltung der Sause übernehmen. Dancehall, Hip Hop, R’n’B und Tropical stehen auf dem Programm. Dazu schnell noch ein Wodka-Special von der „Ranks Bar“ und ab geht er… Am Mittwoch heißt es also: Fasten your seat belts! It’s time to celebrate D-FEKTO’S birthday… it’s time to “Fly High!”!

Am 01.06. gibt es keine Weicheientschuldigungen wie: „Orr nee, ich muss am nächsten Tag arbeit’n“, oder „Ich hab Praktikum und muss ich früh raus“, denn ein Vorfeiertag steht an, und so können alle, die es bisher versäumt haben in der neuen „Fly High!“ Location im Städtischen Kaufhaus vorbeizuschauen, ihren Einstand geben und angemessen in den Herrentag reinfeiern!

Musikalisch wird der Abend von D-FEKT (RM RECORDS) und TOM-A-GIDDEON (UPLIFTMENT INT’L) mit Dancehall, Hip Hop und R’n’B bestritten. Dazu gibt es das in der neuen Location wieder obligatorische Getränkespecial, dass dieses mal die perfekte Brücke von Ost nach West schlägt. CAIPIROSCHKAS zubereitet nach MAMA D-FEKTOs Spezialrezept kredenzt von der RANKS BAR! Von Polen nach Brasilien in einer Nacht…

Leipzig, 05. Mai 05.45 Uhr… Ein lebloser Körper liegt auf dem Augustusplatz… Was war passiert? In der vorangegangenen Nacht startete das „Fly High!“, Leipzigs Regular für Dancehall, Hip Hop und R’n’B, seine Generalprobe in der neuen Location „Club 2UG“, im Städtischen Kaufhaus. Neben der von FLO und TOM-A-GIDDEON von UPLIFTMENT INT’L dargebotenen Musik, war – wie aus den Anfangstagen im „Frühauf“ gewohnt – „Die Ranks Bar“ vor Ort und kredenzte den polnischen Kultkirschwodka „Wisniówka“. Es sollte eigentlich nur eine Freirunde am Anfang des Abends werden, dann jedoch eskalierte die Lage und der Chef des Mitpräsentators „341 Store“, seitdem nur noch „Bars Swagga“ genannt rief eine bezahlfreie Runde nach der anderen aus… Der „Wisniówka“ machte seinem Ruf als Killerdrink alle Ehre und so hatte sich der obige, aus Verschwiegenheitsgründen namenlos bleibende Patron, entschieden ein kleines Schläfchen auf dem zentralen Platz der Stadt einzulegen…

Somit ist auch der Charakter des „Neuen Mittwochs“ im „Club 2UG“ recht genau umrissen: Leipziger Feierkultur am Schnittpunkt zwischen West und Ost. Musik aus Kingston und  New York trifft osteuropäische Trinkultur und Gastfreundschaft…

Ab sofort werden am 1. und 3. Mittwoch des Monats FLO (UPLIFTMENT INT’L), D-FEKT (RM RECORDS), TOM-A-GIDDEONN (UPLIFTMENT INT’L) und CHE (EXODUS SOUND MOVEMENT) in verschiedener Zusammensetzung für den guten Ton und wechselnde Getränkespecials für das geistige Wohlbefinden sorgen… Fasten your seat belts ‚cos it’s time to „Fly High!“!

„Fly High!“ – Leipzigs Regular für Dancehall, Hip Hop und R’n’B – findet ab Mittwoch den 04.05. im „2UG Club“ im Städtischen Kaufhaus am Leipziger Neumarkt statt. Präsentiert von GERMAICA DIGITAL und dem 341 STORE werden die Residents FLO (UPLIFTMENT INT’L), D-FEKT (RM RECORDS), TOM-A-GIDDEON (UPLIFTMENT INT’L) , CHE (EXODUS SOUND MOVEMENT) jeweils am 1. und 3. Mittwoch des Monats in unterschiedlicher Zusammensetzung im Blauen Salon auflegen.
Zur ersten Show gibt es die offizielle Videopremiere des Clips „Polish Vodka“ von Dr. Ring Ding, der im April in Warschau gedreht wurde. Passend dazu hat „Die Ranks Bar“ ein „Wisniówka Special“ mit dem beliebten polnischen Kirschwodka vorbereitet….

Der neue Mittwoch im 2UG Club – Urban Classiques, brandneue Tunes und dazu wechselnde Getränkespecials: It’s time to „Fly High!“…

UPLIFTMENT INT’L will leave Leipzig/Germaica today to play 3 release parties in Poland where the instrumental of the Riddim was created by DREADSQUAD. The shows gonna be: Feb03 Wroclaw/Plan Bashment w/EASTWEST SOUND and CHEEBA (live!), Feb04 Kraków/Bledne Kolo w/REVOLDA SOUND and Feb05 Warszawa/Klub Mandala w/DANCEHALL MASAK-RAH. So all „Polski Badmaijnski“ line up for the in-official „Polish Vodka Tour 2011“!
