RAS LUTA to wokalista, aranżer i autor tekstów związany ze sceną Reggae. Zaczynał w 2004 roku od współpracy z lokalnymi zespołami Reggae i soundsystemami w Toruniu. Jego pierwsze profesjonalne nagrania ukazały się na albumie producenckim Marka „MMF” Bogdańskiego, lidera łódzkiego DREADSQUADu. Później dołączył do grupy EASTWEST ROCKERS, z którą nagrał dwa studyjne albumy oraz wiele nieoficjalnych materiałów dostępnych głównie w sieci.

RAS LUTA współpracował z wieloma znanymi artystami Reggae, Dancehall, Hip Hop i nie tylko: Bob1, Junior Stress, Mista Pita, Grubson, Miodu (Jamal), DJ Feel-X, DJ Bart, Hemp Gru, Fu, Fatum Crew, Sidney Polak, Marika, Maleo Reggae Rockers, Ruff Radics i inni. Wsytępował na niemal wszystkich największych cyklicznych imprezach i festiwalach organizowanych w Polsce (Heineken Open Air, Coke Live, Ostróda Reggae, Bielawa Reggae).

Ras Luta jako jeden z wokalistów EastWest Rockers śpiewa na ich ostatniej, świetnie przyjętej płycie „Jedyna broń”. Po premierze zespół zagrał kilkadziesiąt koncertów w całym kraju. Solowy album zawiera 14 utworów. Tekstowo nawiązuje do kultury rasta. Za produkcję nagrań i miks tej płyty odpowiada Pionear – Niemiec znany u nas z produkcji składanki „Polski ogień”. Gościnnie na płycie pojawiają się Rahim i Fokus, Hemp Gru, Blasku z Fatum Crew oraz Mrozu (zarówno jako producent, jak też wokalista). Riddimy pochodzą od House of Riddim, EMZK, Dubby Conquerors, Lockdown Productions, Mista Pita & Radical Irie oraz Justin “JusBus” Nation.

Ras Luta wydał swój pierwszy solo album “Jeśli słyszysz” w Prosto, jednej z największych hiphopowych wytórni w Polsce. Drugim singlem promującym album będzie kawałek “Chodź” z gościnnym udziałem rapera Blasku z wrocławskiego Fatum Crew. Riddim wyprodukował Pionear, który jest też głównym producentem albumu.

Gdy płyta “Jeśli słyszysz” znalazła się w zestawieniu najlepiej sprzedających się płyt w Polsce, dla Pioneara był to drugi wyprodukowany przez niego album, który znalazł się na w rankingu Olisu (Top 30). Dowodzi to niezwykle mocnej pozycji tego producenta na polskiej scenie reggae.

RAS LUTA – one of three vocalists of the notorious EASTWEST ROCKERS from Wroclaw – released his first solo album “Jesli słyszysz” which means “If you can hear”. Executive producer of the album is PIONEAR for GERMAICA DIGITAL. PIONEAR is known in Poland for releasing the first ever Reggae compilation on a major label called „Polski ogień” on Warner Music Poland…

RAS LUTA is a vocalist, arranger and author of lyrics. He started in 2004 cooperating with local Reggae groups and soundsystems in Toruń. His first professional recordings appeared on the producer album of Marek „MMF” Bogdański, leader of Dreadsquad from Łódź. Later on he has joined the EASTWEST ROCKERS group, with whom he recorded two studio albums and many unofficial material available through the internet.

RAS LUTA has cooperated with many well-known Polish Reggae, Dancehall and Hip Hop artistes like: Bob1, Junior Stress, Mista Pita, Grubson, Miodu (Jamal), DJ Feel-X, DJ Bart, Hemp Gru, Fu, Fatum Crew, Sidney Polak, Marika, Maleo Reggae Rockers, Ruff Radics and others. He performed on every big festival in Poland (Heineken Open’er, Coke Live, Ostróda Reggae, Bielawa Reggae).

Now RAS LUTA has released his first solo album “Jesli Slyszysz” through reknowned Polish Hip Hop label PROSTO. 2nd single from the album is “Chodz” a song who features Rapper BLASKU of the Silesian FATUM CREW. The instrumental is provided by album executive producer PIONEAR – You can check the video for “Chodz” in the GERMAICA Tube section… With “Jesli Slyszysz” entering the Polish mainstream charts Pionear scores his second Top 30 album in a row in Poland – proving once more his outstanding status in Polish Reggae…”

Mit insgesamt 5 Shows unter dem Motto des offiziellen UPLIFTMENT INT’L Dances, wird der Dezember 2009 ohne Zweifel D-E-R FLY HIGH! Monat bisher! So wird die neue Dancehall-Partyreihe Leipzigs nach Mittweida und Görlitz exportiert, es das erste FLY HIGH! XTRA am 18.12. im Frühauf geben (bei dem wir auch den ersten jamaikanischen Artiste begrüßen können), und zum krönenden Abschluß des Jahres eine mit Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Jungle und Dub angereicherte Silvestersause im Connewitzer Werk II stattfinden…

Den Anfang macht jedoch die vierzehnte Ausgabe des regulär stattfindenden Dances am 5.12., bei dem der Link nach Österreich im Fokus steht. Mit TOM HYPE kommt der hoffnungsvollste Hardcore-Artiste der Alpenrepublik nach Leipzig! 2006 war er Mitbegründer der Band SOUND.SAFARI, die mittlerweile in Österreich Kult-Status genießt. Mit TOM HYPE am Mikrofon wurde das Kärnten-Finale des “Local Heroes Band Contest” gewonnen, und die Band erreichte im österreichweiten Finale in Wien den 4. Platz – die beste Platzierung einer Kärntner Band überhaupt.

2009 startete Tom Hype mit der Hip Hop Crew DECKTALES einen monatlichen Regular im Club Loco in Villach: “HipHop Vs Dancehall” – der Anfang des Hypes… Heute stehen über 350 Gigs in Österreich, Deutschland, Italien & Slowenien zu Buche, eine Mega-Massive in Kärnten hinter dem Artist und die Frauen Schlange… Ein Album Release ist für 2010 geplant. Der Hype ist ausgebrochen und die €uros werden rollen!

Los cantantes malagueños LITTLE PEPE y SHABU, dos de las voces más originales y comprometidas del Reggae en español, lanzan juntos su primer disco en formato ‘split álbum’, de ahí su título “Compartiendo”. Este trabajo, compuesto de 15 cortes y producido íntegramente por el también malagueño RAS JOUQMAHI, lo edita GERMAICA IBERIA, la filial española del prestigioso sello europeo de reggae GERMAICAN RECORDS, y lo distribuye BOA MUSIC.

Además de ser el primer disco para dos artistas cuyo éxito ha radicado hasta ahora en un particular fenómeno de fans con base en internet, estamos ante el primer trabajo de estas características en la escena del género reggae en nuestro país: dos voces melódicas, con letras cargadas de mensaje, sobre las composiciones musicales de un productor multiinstrumentista que tras largos años de experimentación ha logrado forjar un sonido fresco e inconfundiblemente propio.

“Compartiendo” tiene una estructura bastante simétrica, tanto en forma como en contenido. En cuanto a la distribución de los cortes, el disco se abre con la intro, única pista en la que aparecen juntas ambas voces, que da paso a 14 canciones, 7 de Shabu y 7 de Little Pepe, dispuestas alternativamente. Este aparente orden simétrico se desvanece cuando nos adentramos en el universo orgánico y policromático del disco escuchado como unidad, cargado de detalles, florituras y sutilezas.

LITTLE PEPE & SHABU – hailing from the Andalucían Málaga – two of the most original and promising voices of Spanish Reggae, announce their first official album release. It comes as a a split album called “Compartiendo” (“Sharing”). All 15 tracks were produced by also Málaga-based RAS JOUQMAHI and edited by GERMAICA IBERIA, the recently created Spanish sub-branch of the prestigious European Reggae label GERMAICAN RECORDS from Leipzig/Saxony. The distribution will be handled by the Spanish No.1 in Urban music BOA.

Apart from being the first release for both artists, whose success was rooted until now in a particular good response from the internet fan-community, we find ourselves in front of the very first work with the characteristics of a split album in Spain: two melodic voices singing conscious lyrics with deep messages upon musical compositions from a producer “multi-instrumentalist” who after years of experience has created a fresh and distinctive sound.

“Compartiendo” counts with a well balanced and symmetric structure, regarding both format as well as content. The opening intro is also the only combination of both singers, followed by 14 more tracks, 7 of each singer (sometimes on the same rhythm track), in an alternate order.

This appearently rigid frame blurs away once inside the organic and polichromatic universe of the album, listening to it as an undividable unit, charged with countless subtile decorative ornaments.

Nachdem bei der Saisoneröffnung im September ein neuer Besucherrekord aufgestellt wurde und LUTA sein Soloalbum erstmals live vorstellte, wird es nun Zeit das zwölfte FLY HIGH! zu feiern…

CHARLY B aus Marseille ist gerade von einem Aufenthalt in Kingston/Jamaica eingeflogen, wo er in den GeeJam Studios sein neues Album aufgenommen hat. Erscheinen wird das Werk auf CHARLY Bs neuem Label REGGAEEUROPE.COM. Neben Stücken aus dem Album wird er natürlich auch seinen aktuellen Hit “To Bomboclaat” auf dem “Sleng Teng Refuelled” von WEEDY G aus der Schweiz und Material aus seinem stattlichen Katalog bei seinem Leipzig-Debut spielen.

Wenn die erste Show der neuen Saison genau so brennt, wie der grandiose Austand des ersten FLY HIGH! Jahres, solltet ihr nicht lange überlegen, wo ihr am Sonnabend den 12.09. 2009 hingeht… Ins Frühauf, in Leipzigs Zentrum-Südost! Selbst die kühnsten Prognosen wurden übertroffen als bei REGGAE UNTER DEN EICHEN, der offiziellen FLY HIGH! Sommerausgabe, 400 Gäste gezählt wurden. Das ist nicht nur lokal gesehen eine seit gefühlten Ewigkeiten unerreichte Zahl, sondern kann sich durchaus auch republikweit sehen lassen, wenn man bedenkt, daß z.B. beim nur kurze Zeit später stattfindenden Dhm Link Up – dem Jahrestreffen aller deutschsprachigen Dancehallfans – 300 Besucher gezählt wurden. Solch einen würdigen Abschluß des ersten Jahres, hat sich UPLIFTMENT INT’L redlich verdient, war doch jeder der 10 Dances eine ausgelassene Feier, und wurde mit Artistes aus Polen, Norwegen, Spanien, Ex-Jugoslawien, Rußland, Dänemark und Costa Rica eine immense Internationalität geboten.

Nun ist es an der Zeit die neue Saison zu eröffnen und den ersten Jahrestag zu begehen. Die UPLIFTMENT Cru lädt zur 11. Ausgabe ihres Dances, der ab sofort jeden zweiten Sonnabend im Monat stattfindet. Livegast wird LUTA aus dem schlesischen Wroclaw sein. Der Sänger von Polens beliebtestem Dancehall-Act EASTWEST ROCKERS, hat in den letzten zwölf Monaten in “Lipsk”, wie er die GERMAICA-Capitale nennt, gemeinsam mit Produzent PIONEAR sein erstes Soloalbum aufgenommen. Dieses Album wird an diesem Abend seine Livepremiere erleben.

Wie man weiterhin munkelt, wird dem UPLIFTMENT ULTRAS Mob, am 12.09. das unabdingbare Accessoir einer wahren Fangemeinschaft feierlich überreicht werden. Dies geschieht übrigens mit freundlicher Unterstützung der RANKS BAR, die nach zähen Verhandlungen, auch für 2009/2010 wieder für die gastronomische Betreuung der Gäste gewonnen werden konnte. Naše poznate “Turbo-Trash-Pop” dame LAS BALKANIERAS, su ovoga ljeta na obali adrije snimili, kao i uvijek brzinom groma, njihov treći spot njihove Dubstep cover pijesme, “Kalinka”. I naravno kao i uvijek su se igrale elmentima balkanskog mediterana, samo ovoga puta na jedan malo drugačiji način, na jedan gusarsko-Elektro-Trash način. Priča grčkih mitologija o sirenama koje su pjesmom privlačile i mamile mornare a potom ih uništavale, isto tako je remixovan, dok je poanta ostala kao i uvijek stara, igra između muškarca i žene, igra LAS BALKANIERAS. Režiju spota je radio ANTE DEKOVIĆ ,koji inače radi u Hollywoodu specijalne efekte za veće filmske produkcije, te studenski filmski team iz Aachena.

Last week our Turbo-Trash-Pop-Ladies LAS BALKANIERAS did shoot a video for their Dubstep-interpretation of the Russian folk classic “Kalinka”. As usual it was a lighning-speed-head-over-heels-adventure with a professional result. Director of the clip is ANTE DEKOVIĆ, brother of BALKANIERA MEDITERANOVIĆ and special-effects-engineer in Hollywood/California. Amongst other locations the video was done at Croatia’s No.1 Marina “Frappa” and features Philippinian dancing-group “MTB”…

The Plot of the video is an alternative interpretation of the Greek mythology where the so-called Sirenes spread on rocks – with their singing and pretty looks – attract poor sailors. Only to crush them out after without remorse…

In other words the clip is another approach of the ancient topic man vs. woman – of course here the LAS BALKANIERAS-way!

JODDSKI, artisten tidligere kjent som JØRG-1 fra TUNGTVANN er tilbake for fullt. Siden jul har han bombardert internettet med coverlåter av blant annet Karpe Diem og Blacksheeps. Rett før sommeren kom videoen til partylåta ”Laisa Det Opp”, og siden det har han reist rundt med fullt band og fått journalistene til å trille 5ere på terninger med sine liveshows. Nå er den nye singlen ”Luremus” sendt ut til radio.

”Luremus”-videoen er produsert av polske BOB ONE og PIONEAR og tar for seg kjøttmarkedet, og problemene man møter på der. Ei luremus er tradisjonelt sett ei jente som ”lova og lyg”, som de sier i nord. I denne låta er det motsatt. Jentene spiller jomfruelige for å ikke stå fram som horer, noe som er frustrerende for en ung mann på sjekker’n Regissør Thor Erling Brenne oppsummerer: “For meg er låten ”Luremus” svart humor, aggresivitet og dirty sex – paret på sedvanlig, semipervertert JODDSKI-maner. Dette ble også settingen , og storyen i videoen. Jeg har rett og slett prøvd å visualisere uteliv og sjekking, fra det litt skjeve perspektet vi vel alle har inntatt av og til: God gammeldags alkonihilisme, avgrunnsdybde og primitiv jakt”

Videoen inneholder en del sterke scener, spesielt på sex-siden. JODDSKI sier at låten ”selvsagt er basert på egne erfaringer men at navn er forandra for å beskytte de skyldige”, og legger til at det låten tar for seg er det evige spillet mellom kjønnene man kan obsevere ute på byen. Et spill som blir mer og mer kynisk, spesielt for en enkel gutt fra landet.

Til og med på settet ble det drama, i det en statist som hadde blitt med dama si på ”jobb” ble så sjalu når hun spilte inn noen litt pikante scener at han storma ut av lokalet, og dermed også ødela den scena han var statist i. At dama hans hadde lettkled i Vi Menn tidligere og at han visste om scenene på forhånd hjalp lite.

The new single “Luremus” from JODDSKI aka “The Germaica Viking” is causing a lot of controversy in his homecountry Norway, where the video was released this week. It’s part of his first solo album which is expected for November 2009 and features the riddim debut of the Polish Artiste BOB ONE and vocal production and harmonies by PIONEAR.

People love it or hate it, since it puts the focus on the relationship issue in a different way. Joddski explains: “A “Luremus” is a known Norwegian expression. “Mus” means “mouse” and refers to the punanny, and to “lur” somebody means to trick them. It’s usually referring to females who pretend to be willing to go all the way, but when you finally get them home, they suddenly change their mind. In the song “Luremus” this is turned on it’s head, as it speaks upon ladies who pretend to be righteous and never doing anything “wrong”, but when nobody’s looking they go at it in the worst way. Many females act this way in fear of being labelled hookers (while their male counterparts are referred to as studs), but the fact of the matter is: Everybody likes a good slam bam, there’s nothing wrong with a little bump’n’grind!”

He continues: “The Luremus video depicts a night on the town for 3 horny (and pretty beat up) guys looking for a one night stand, and portrays how this might go down on a fucked up Sunday night. With it’s crosscutting it speaks upon the difference beetween what is said and what is actually done, as well as the games played beetween the opposite sexes in what in Norway is referred to as ‘the meat market'”.

Running up to the 10 year anniversary of GERMAICA later this year certain circles are closing… May 6th 1989 the producers of the classic GERMAICA riddim “Messer Banzani” – cousins TOM and PIONEAR – founded the first East German Ska & Reggae band ever – also called “Messer Banzani” – the name being a hommage to the Marco Polo times of old. This famous Venetian globe trotter was born at the now Croatian island of “Korčula” just like DONNA BOSANCHERA of LAS BALKANIERAS – a female vocal trio and GERMAICAs latest signing. Today 20 years later in July 2009 her and fellow band members BALKANIERA MEDITERANOVIĆ and Ms. RUSSIA winning the “Best Newcomer” award at Croatia’s most prolific annual song festival “Splitski ’09” with their interpretation of the “Messer Banzani” riddim called “Ćiribiribella”! The festival city Split is about 50 miles away from “Korčula”…

The ladies – currently residing in Düsseldorf/Germany – caused quiet a stir bringing a breath of fresh air to the rather conservative festival. Their performance featured Children’s Dance Group “Sindbad” from Šibenik – home town of BALKANIERA MEDITERANOVIĆ and incorporated references to their Slavic background combined with an international production and sound.

Following the award as well as a successful surprise appearance at the memorial show for Croatian Funk legend DINO DVORNIK the media response was overwhelming and the festival song “Ćiribiribela” is already being heard on all local radio stations developing into a summer hit for LAS BALKANIERAS and their debut single…

Hans første album heter “Krig & Kjærlighet” og gis ut av Norges største Indie, Bonnier-Amigo, kjent fra MADCONs suksess. Første smakebit er tittelsporet “Krig & Kjærlighet”, hvor han har fått med seg en av Norges største rockelegender på refrenget. Han heter MICHAEL KROHN og er kjent fra veteranene i RAGA ROCKERS, med over 25 år i bransjen. GERMAICAs own viking, JODDSKI, formerly known as JØRG-1 from the Hip Hop group TUNGTVANN, is about to launch himself as a solo artist. His first album is called “Krig & Kjærlihget” ( “Love & War”), and will be released through Norway’s biggest indie label, Bonnier-Amigo, known from the success of MADCON. Mit den letzten beiden Ausgaben des “FLY HIGH!” und der sich fast virusartig ausbreitenden ULTRASbewegung in Leipzig hat sich der neue UPLIFTMENT INT’L Dance wohl endgültig neben dem lokalen Platzhirsch “Hotta Fire Reggae Station” etabliert, denn solche ausgelassenen Feiern, frische Ideen und positives Feedback der Besucher hat man hier schon seit langem vermißt. Offensichtlich ist es der Crew um den Leipziger Top-Sound gelungen den Nerv der Zeit zu treffen und die nächste Generation an den Sound aus Jamaica heranzuführen.

Kein Meckern á la “früher war alles besser” oder rumweinen “der Hype ist vorbei”, sondern eine simple Basement Location, Durchführung aller Aspekte in Eigenregie und natürlich die Musik: “up-to-date” Hits aus Kingston, monatlich frische Dubs und Artistes aus Europa entweder in Form von Eigenproduktionen aus den Pioneers oder live auf der FLY HIGH! Bühne…

Dieses Mal gibt es nicht nur den ersten weiblichen Act beim FLY HIGH! zu begutachten, sondern auch das erste Vokaltrio überhaupt wird das Frühauf besuchen, nachdem es bisher ausschließlich Soloacts zu sehen gab. LAS BALKANIERAS haben trotz ihres Wohnsitzes in Düsseldorf aka Dizeldorf überhaupt kein Rheinländisches Blut vorzuweisen, stammen zwei der 3 Damen doch aus Ex-Jugoslawien und die dritte aus Saratow in Rußland. RAGGABALDER are now ready with their new Mix-CD release called “Knockin’ Like A Hammer Pon Ur Fukkin’ Door”, in cooperation with their good friends from Leipzig, GERMAICA DIGITAL . RAGGABALDER and GERMAICA have been working closely together since GERMAICA-boss PIONEAR included RAGGABALDER-selector JODDSKIs former band TUNGTVANN on his “Rodeo Europe” release in 2005.

RAGGABALDER put a lot of focus in to promoting local and European artists, and on “Knockin’ Like A Hammer Pon Ur Fukkin’ Door” you get dubplates from a new generation of Scandinavian and European artists. Moi ludzie!

Jak pewne niektórzy zauważyli, pojawił się muzyczny profil LUTA EUROPE (myspace.com/lutaeurope). Ta strona powstała, byście mogli wreszcie posłuchać starych, nowych, a także nigdzie nie publikowanych jeszcze nagrań. Jest też początkiem moich i Pioniera prób przebicia się z Polskim Reggae poza nasz kraj. W przyszłości planujemy wydanie płyty całkowicie po Angielsku (oczywiście to nie oznacza, że zrezygnuję z nagrywania po Polsku!), ciekaw jestem waszych opinii na ten temat!

A poza tym – prace nad solówką dla Prosto trwają! zmienił się nieco skład gości na płycie, prócz Rahima, Fokusa, Mroza i EWR, swój udział przybili Wilku i Bilon z Hemp Gru (pozdrawiam całą ekipę, wielki szacunek!) pojawi się też Blasku, reprezentant Fatum Crew z Wrocławia i Bob One.

My People!

As some of u might have already noticed, I&I have set up a new music profile: LUTA EUROPE (myspace.com/lutaeurope). The site has been officially launched now, so all of u can finally listen to I known, new and yet unreleased tunes. It also marks the beginning of I&I efforts to promote Polish Reggae and Dancehall music outside of I country. In the future Pionear and I plan to release English material – which of course doesn’t mean that I will ever stop recording in Polish!!! We would apprecilove ur opinions about this venture as it gets bigger and gains momentum!

I would also like to share with u, that the works on I Polish solo album (for the Prosto Label) are in full swing! A release date is yet to be announced, but for sure I will let u know about it, as soon as it’s set!

Als der neunte GERMAICA-Geburtstag im September kurzfristig vom “Westwerk” in den “Klub Frühauf” verlegt wurde, wußte die UPLIFTMENT INT’L Cru nicht, was sie erwartet. Würde ein Klub in dem noch nie gespielt wurde, mit nur 3 Tagen Vorlauf für die Werbung, von den Leuten angenommen werden? Der Abend war dann, nichtzuletzt wegen der ersten Deutschlandshow des polnischen Artistes LUTA, dermaßen nach dem Geschmack aller Beteiligten, daß man sich sofort entschloss dort eine zweite Party in Angriff zu nehmen…

Am 3. Oktober ist es so weit: Zeit um zum nächsten “FLY HIGH!”, dem Vol.1.9 abzuheben! Wieder haben sich internationale Gäste angesagt, nach dem Osten gehen wir dieses Mal in den hohen Norden und begrüßen mit den RAGGABALDER RIDDIM REBELS das hochkarätigste Soundsystem Norwegens in Leipzig. JODDSKI und JAN STEEZY bildeten für neun Jahre gemeinsam mit DJ POPPA LARS das Trio TUNGTVANN. Sie waren die erste ernstzunehmende Hip Hop Cru ihres Heimatlandes und für fast ein Jahrzehnt auch die erfolgreichste. Mit 4 Alben incl. Goldauszeichnungen, setzten sie den Trend für die nachfolgende Genaration nordischer Rapper. Schon bei TUNGTVANN waren sehr starke Dancehalleinflüsse zu spüren, die sie ab 2001 mit RAGGABALDER, ihrem eigenen Sound zur Vollendung führten. GERMAICA ist den Osloern bereits seit über 4 Jahren eng verbunden, sind sie doch für die Bookings von UPLIFTMENT INT’L in Norwegen verantwortlich…

Aller Voraussicht nach , wird es einen Abend voller guter Musik und mit viel Alkohol geben, denn die durchzechten Nächte in den Klubs Oslos, sind immer wieder ein gern gewähltes Gesprächsthema innerhalb der UPLIFTMENT Cru. Mal sehen, wer am Feiertag wen unter das Selectorpult säuft?
